Show announcement

This is a show with national
scope and includes some
historically significant prints by
well-known artists. Try to
see it if you're in the area.

Here are the final two pastel-embellished prints I've been
playing with. I'm moving on to some experiments with
trace monotypes for upcoming shows.

Been working on some unfinished prints. Some I am
finishing with pastels, some with collage and other media.
Makes me want to do some painting...

spent a couple of days working on some new cards for
the gallery.  Making these little pieces can be very
satisfying - and they keep the creative muscles exercised.

where have I been?

I guess I'm too easily distracted to have a real blog.
Months have gone by again without a post.

I know several people who have recently discovered the zentangle.
My own loose translation of the concept has been a guilty pleasure
for years, and I just finished two that may work their way into my next
monotypes. These are absorbing enough to thoroughly distract you
from the things you ought really to be doing.
What's not to like about that?

Newer Prints

Wow, this really IS an occasional blog...
I'm posting two monotypes that came out of a day of printmaking with Ron Pokrasso a few months ago. They're hanging this month and next at Brandon Gallery.
I spent another day with him last week; I always come away energized and anxious to do more.

Art by the Inch

This is the final week of Brandon Gallery's fundraiser
"Art By The Inch." A 32-foot collaborative painting
(15 artists participated) is being sold by the square inch.
Buyers tape off a section they select and purchase, and
it is cut at a big reception on Saturday, June 27.
This was a fun project to work on; we hope it will become
an annual event. I've posted photos of the painting when
it was being created earlier this month.

GOOD SHOW
Decided at the last minute to submit something to the Fallbrook Art Association juried show. Both were accepted; this one (a rather bad image of it) sold. It makes me anxious to finish some other collagraph plates I've been working on.
